Post match comments by RSL head coach Jason Kreis

Shortly after the 1-0 victory by Real Salt Lake over the Columbus Crew in the first leg of their playoff home and home series RSL head coach Jason Kreis addressed the media:

One thing was clear in the match, Columbus came to play the same style that Houston played on Thursday in Seattle, not worrying about the win on the road only looking to not get beat. When a coach chooses to sit the defending MLS Most Valuable Player and their leading scorer who has double the amount goals of anyone else on your team, and your leading scorer from the 2008 season and instead starts the match with two more physical forwards who have a total of 4 goals between them, you know that winning isn’t the top thing on their agenda. When that coach makes his changes in the match and still leaves his two most potent offensive weapons of the last two years on the bench in favor of Jason Garey and Emmanuel Ekpo vs. GBS and Alejandro Moreno, the is no doubt that it was a clear signal that while Columbus wouldn’t pass up a chance to score, they did take 7 shots, but their mindset was to slow down the lethal RSL home attack. It worked as they limited RSL to just 8 shots with just two on goal, but I will post a more complete match recap on Monday evening as I rewatch the match.

Shortly after the 1-0 win over Columbus in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, Yura Movsisyan spoke with the media, here are his comments:

It was a solid performance by Yura who came on in the 65th minute replacing Espindola who appeared to possibly pick up an injury on a non-called foul in the box.
