Two Major events coming up
No I am not talking about Real Salt Lake hosting the MLS All Star match, or hosting the USNMT vs. El Salvador, both of which are huge events. I am talking about next weekend’s Season Ticket Holder event and the March 21st Open House and exhibition match. Here are the details direct from today’s Client Experience Newsletter:
1. March 14th – Season Kick-off Event
We are happy to confirm that on Saturday, March 14, we will host our 4th Annual Season Kickoff Event here at Rio Tinto Stadium from 12:00-4:00 p.m. The event, which will be the first opportunity for you to receive your 2009 Season Tickets, will include food provided in the second floor Club Real, stadium tours starting on the half hour, and an opportunity for all Season Ticket Holders to become acquainted with Flash Seats, the secondary ticketing side of our new ticket system provided by Veritix. Individuals from Flash Seats will be giving presentations at the top of every hour, providing a brief tutorial for how you can manage your tickets electronically, as well as explaining options to place them up for re-sale on the system’s secondary market.
The RSL Team Store at Rio Tinto Stadium will be open for the event and is scheduled to have all the new 2009 RSL/adidas team gear in stock at that time. Remember that one of your perks as a Season Ticket Holder is a 25% discount on all team merchandise purchased through the RSL Team Store!
Any tickets that are not picked up during the Season Kickoff Event on the 14th will be scheduled for delivery the following week. However, you may also request that we hold your tickets until the event taking place at the stadium on March 21 (see below). If you have any questions regarding the Season Kickoff Event, please reply to this e-mail at clientexperience@realsaltlake.com.
2. March 21st – FREE RSL Exhibition Game
Rio Tinto Stadium will hold a unique Open House event, presented in conjunction with Sandy City, on Saturday, March 21. The Open House will include a sneak peek at the 2009 edition of Real Salt Lake, with the first-team scheduled to take on a yet-to-be-named opponent beginning at 1:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and seating for that event will be general admission (with the exception of the club section and suites). Gates will open at 11:00 a.m.
As part of this event, there will be a Sandy City SoccerFest fundraiser taking place on the east side of the stadium beginning at 11:00 a.m. that morning, with proceeds going towards the Sandy City Rotary Club Foundation. In addition, following the game all 24 Real Salt Lake players will be available on the concourse for photo opportunities with fans in attendance (autographs will not be permitted at that time). The squad will be split up into groups of three players around the concourse and will be made available for approximately 45 minutes after the contest.
These are great events and I will give the FO Kudo’s on the Free Exhibition match, there is nothing like seeing soccer live and when it is free it is event better. I highly suggest getting there early as I have little doubt that they will fill up the seats quickly.
RSL signs another player
Well as the 24 roster spots are being finalized we should expect more announcements, today RSL announced the signing of Raphael Cox to a senior roster spot (each team gets 20 senior and 4 development roster spots). Cox was a 4th round draft pick and a two time All PAC-10 player for the University of Washington. I expect that we will see some more roster action before the week is over.
A great chance to help the Williams family
If you are a RSL fan you know the battle that the Williams family is fighting and the huge financial toll that comes along with it. There are just days left in the auction that has already raised a lot of money, and there is one super item that you should consider bidding on. A 2008 US Olympic Team autographed ball while the US didn’t do as well as we would have liked, the list of stars on the team is impressive:
Brian McBride
Brad Guzan
Jozy Altidore
Freddy Adu
Michael Bradley
Sacha Kljestan
Robbie Rogers
and our own Chris Seitz and many more. This ball is worth more than the current bid and the only question is will you outbid me on it?
