RSL vs. CR halftime
Tied at the half
So the score isn’t the only thing that was tight at the half, RSL leads with 4 shots to 3, Rapids lead with 3 on goal to RSL’s 2, Colorado also leads with 5 corner kicks to 3 for Real. It has evened out a lot since Colorado controlled more of the possession in the first 20 minutes, the match has opened up a bit and RSL has been able to get the ball into the attacking third more in the last 20 minutes than the Rapids. RSL has to be cautious the Rapids have attacked up the wings a couple times and caused problems for RSL, I am sure they will continue that attack in the second half. RSL has a lot of new faces on the bench Horst, Nunez, and Cordoba, there is no Yura, no Javier on the bench, but Robbie Findley is there along with Olave, Seitz and Dustin Kirby. Will RSL play the second half going for the tie with a tight defensive effort or will they pour on the offense and try to make RSL history, a win tonight would put RSL in first place in the Western Conference which is something that has never happened before. I have to believe that Jason will wait until the 75th minute and if the score is still tied, I expect Findley to come in and I would take out Cutler, moving Espindola into more of an attacking midfield role with Beckerman and Williams wide and Dema playing the holding midfield position, but heck what do I know?
I expect we will see a couple goals in the second half, and if both teams stick with history the last 15 minutes could be entertaining. Off to the second half.
